That's huge, especially for a lightweight. Hope it doesn't affect his performance too much.
Always an interesting guy to watch.
I'm a fan and hope Duane wins big, but more so, hope he's healthy & safe after that monster cut.
What % of the cut was water weight? How much was last day?
That may not be safe.
I just hope that the weight doesnt affect his performance
I just hope that the weight doesnt affect his performance
Brock75thRanger - yea it only takes a few days to put the weight back on,but as far as cutting this is the most i have heard of in this kinda time frame,im not an insider or anything but it seems insane
didn't Spenser Fisher cut something like 20 lbs in a day or two for his first fight with Stout?
holy cow!
That's a hell of a cut. True professional, especially when you consider Daley has had a full camp and missed his mark.
Miller actually had to make a similar cut himself when he took the Wiman fight on 8 days or so, right after his honeymoon and Thanksgiving.
I would have waited to see if Bang could go a few minutes before gassing to shit before I plugged my product.
Better hope Duane's gloves aren't dragging on the ground by the end of round 1 or no one is touching the Dolce Diet.
SPoulin -Yes. Not how and why you would think though. I'll facebook you.Dougie -Looking to cut some weight Dougie? The Marvelous One - i just purchased it Mike, looking forward to it!I'd like to hear your experience with it.
fook IV stat!
TravenBJJ - sounds like a dumb ass weight cut to me
Did you consider the fact that Bang was a LAST MINUTE replacement, less than 2 weeks out?? The guy has a family to feed and wants to fight in the big show. I don't blame him a bit, I would have cut the weight also.
Ludwig is always 1 punch away from sleeping somebody, perhaps a KO of the night bonus and making things comfortable for his family.
Don't hate on a guy who steps up at the last minute to help an horribly injury depleted card and actually makes weight unlike many of the others.
it's cool he can make the weight and it must've been hard as hell... fans appreciate when fighters step up and fight, but don't come out gassed, cuz then it was for nothing but a paycheck.....
cutting 32 pounds to lose to jim miller might not be the best thing but it's good to see duane back in the UFC.
Im not sure I would praise someone for this. That has to be really, really, really bad for someone's health.
I highly doubt thats all water and even if it is (17%+), its going to severly hinder Duane.
I understand it was last minute and all but I'm not about to applaud him for making weight. He's supposed to make weight. I don't get applause for showing up to work on time each day. I will applaud him for stepping up and taking the fight on short notice though.
If Duane is sitting on the sidelines and waiting for calls to fight, he might want to consider not getting so heavy in between and always being close enough to make weight.
I like Duane a lot and think he is super, super exciting...however I really question how seriously he takes mma. It doesn't seem like he really trains mma consistently and never builds up momentum. Jim Miller will steamroll him tonight but I hope he comes back and wins his next UFC bout. Would love to see him fight a few times in he UFC and do well.
TTT
Good luck Duane!!
