"My goal right now is to beat Melvin -- that's all I care about. Melvin is a really explosive, well-rounded fighter. I think a lot of people don't give his ground credit but if you look at the guys he's fought recently, you know, high level black belts, he's beat them, he's survived on the ground. I think I present a lot of problems for him. I think I'll be able to dictate what goes on, take the fight where I want it. I'm not going to go in there and trade one shot for one shot. I've been working a lot of footwork and working my Muay Thai and I think I'll be able to give him a look he's not used to and give him lots of problems from it and win the fight that way."

War Dunham Phone Post

 Do it man!!!

Explosive.

Oh no! Dunham called Guillard explosive. That's racist!

Justinmacd - It's amazing how much that robbery in the Sherk fight has impacted his career.

If he beat Sherk, he's probably fighting someone like Sotiropolous right now and is maybe 2-3 fights away from a title shot.

Fighting Guillard does nothing for his career and should be an EASY submission win if he wants it.

You act like Guillard is a chump, as does most of the UG, for some odd reason. The simple fact is that Guillard has been very good since joining Greg Jackson's camp. He's on a 3 fight win streak and has won 6 of his last 7 fights. Dunham is on a 1 fight losing streak.

You act like they're worlds apart in terms of talent and title contention when they really aren't at all.

if he stands with Guillard, he'll get ktfo

When trained,in shape and focused Melvin fas always been tough to deal with.Unfortuneatly for Dunham, Melvin is all three for this fight.

Will not be an easy fight for Melvin but I think his chances are better than most think.

Dunham is going to win this by being the smarter fighter. Hes right about everything he said.

Guillard ftw Phone Post

Hi Melvin!

This is a great fight. If Dunham wins he climbs slightly back up the ladder, if Guillard wins he establishes himself as a threat at LW. Phone Post

I think this is a good fight for Dunham; 3 of his last four fights have been split decisions, and this is an opportunity to finish a fight in fine fashion, or be finished if he gets caught. In the UFC, fights are given out almost as much by how you win as who you beat, and this is the kind of fight that could allow Dunham to showcase his skills. Guillard is no chump, and although he has an obvious weak area in his game, he is still a very dangerous fighter. A good showing here would definitely benefit Dunham.

Dana knows he was robbed in his last fight and I don't think it derailed his title run much if at all.

I think Dunham is a better technical striker than Guillard and if it goes to the ground its over. Guillard hits harder and has a slight speed advantage but I don't think it will be enough to win him the fight. Dunham by sub or decision.

Hi Melvin!

Oh hey there Evan!

See how that works dipshit?

I like Melvin's ability, but that's it.  Dunham is just a badass all the way around.  Would love to see him work his way closer to a title shot.  Unfortunately he's gotta go through a tough guy in Melvin before he can do that.

FotN candidate for sure. Dunno who will take it, but it should be a war.

if dunham is dumb enough to stand and strike with melvin; he's going to get knocked out imo.

The Sherk fight didn't affect his upward path in the UFC at all, IMO. This fight was supposed to be against Florian originally, but Florian pulled out with an injury I believe. Guillard was probably just the best replacement they could find with so many other fighters booked up already.
