He obviously came into the fight with a preexisting injury. I’ve watched the fight several times and nothing makes contact on these strikes, the fan theories just don’t hold up.
Maybe, but Conor definitely isn’t one to keep that to himself. He absolutely would’ve thrown that excuse in the interview rather than incoherently shrieking about a wonky landing just like Anderson whatever the fuck he was jibbering. Also, the amateurish strategy of coming out firing full force leg kicks with no setup…
I don’t know man. I just cannot even attempt to understand what is going on in his brain. The problem is he’s such a great fighter. He really needs to ditch that camp and go elsewhere, but he probably won’t. It’s amazing he’s come as far as he has.
Edit: if you follow The Weasle on any social media, he thinks the same. After I rewatched the fight and didn’t see any contact, I watched his breakdown then looked at his Twitter. Not that he’s the authority on this but he certainly knows what he’s talking about.
Well then he’s apparently the dumbest man alive for using the one thing he had injured as his main weapon in a fight… or he’s making excuses… or he’s making excuses AND he’s the dumbest man alive.
Either way the “checked” foot kick take that Rogan started was some of the dumbest shit ever.
Rogan didn’t start it you ignoramus, Dustin said he heard it/felt it right after Conor threw it in his post fight interview, which is why he pointed down at it. Rogan & DC both just examined that moment after the fight and it was obvious that it did damage to Conor’s ankle and they both agreed. The punch Conor throws directly after the teep kick is conclusive evidence that it’s fucked since he fails to properly transfer weight to that leg. He is subconsciously protecting it. Anybody with an IQ over 40 can see that.
A fall or blow to your ankle can break one or more of the three bones in your ankle joint — the fibula, the tibia and the talus. Rolling your ankle can cause a break in the knobby bumps at the end of the tibia and fibula.
Conor had rods put in his tibia and fibula, which broke due to the damage the kick to Dustin’s knee obviously caused to Conor’s ankle when he rolled it, or exasperated pre-existing damage if Conor is being honest about the stress fractures. So Dustin, Rogan, and DC were all correct and you are wrong.
Yeah I think this plus the good doctor’s analysis 100% prove Dustin’s hypothesis.
I’ve never checked a leg kick but in boxing I have felt a hand break when it connected with my elbow, it’s hard to explain but those that know simply know on the spot when it happens.
I can’t comment on his intelligence but unless he was kicking shins instead of pads in training (which would be really stupid!), I can see it breaking from stress fractures.
I think it was a different check than the one Dustin pointed on. It looks like it was the foot that landed on the one Dustin pointed. There were a couple others that looked more likely to be the kicks that started the issue.
