Former UFC lightweight champion and current featherweight contender Frankie Edgar recently spoke with MMAWeekly, and said that he wants a fight with division champion Jose Aldo, or Conor McGregor, but isn't holding his breath.

Aldo successfully defended his title against Chad Mendes, and generally takes at least six months between fights. McGregor fights Denis Siver next weekend. Edgar lost to Aldo in Feb of 2013, but has won three straight, most recently a fifth round submission over Cub Swanson in Nov, and feels like he improvement and performance merits another title shot.
Edgar was asked where he fit in title contention.
"I just beat the guy that was promised a title shot - the No. 2 guy in the world. The No. 1 just fought Aldo and didn't get the job done," said Edgar. "So I think if I beat the guy that was promised the title shot, I should get it."
Edgar was asked if McGregor deserved a title shot, assuming he gets by Siver.
"I feel like he's done a good job to put himself in there with his talk and everything else," said Edgar. "I don't know if he's deserving to get that title shot right away. But he's doing the right things as far as it goes with the media."
Then Edgar was lobbed the easy question - what about a fight with McGregor for the #1 contender spot.
"I'd be game for that. But I don't think the UFC would want that. No ... I think they give him the title shot before they give it to me."
Lastly Edgar was asked how he would prepare for Aldo.
"I fought him a couple years ago and felt I did a pretty good job, so just build on that," said Edgar. "I've gotten better, I'm sure he has too. He had a bad performance against Mendes, who is really good. But I think I'm improving and I'd love another crack at it."
What do you think UG? Who do you think more deserves the next title shot? Aldo or McGregor? Who do you think will get it. And lay odds on an Edgar vs. McGregor fight being made.
