Rumors are circulating about a supposed four-man heavyweight/super heavyweight eliminator that would take place in EliteXC over the span of two separate fight cards. The rumor indicates that Kimbo Slice and Tank Abbott would face each other in a bout with Bob Sapp and Eric "Butterbean" Esch taking on each other in another bout. The winners were then supposed to face each other on a later card.
I asked an EliteXC official about the rumor last week and the source said while the idea sounded intriguing, it has never been discussed.
Esch and Sapp are both super heavyweights while Sapp is also contracted to fight for Strikeforce in February so just on the surface, the concept doesn't even seem possible from a logistical standpoint.

They need to have Brock Lesner in this one. They could make it an 8man tourney, Choi Hong Man comes to mind, but they couldn't do it on 1 night. Those guys would be so gassed by the finals they'd just circle each other for the duration. Space the opening rounds and semi-finals on one night and the quarter-finals/championship 1-2 weeks later.
