First off, let me start by saying Anderson is damn good. For sure top 3 pound for pound in the world right now, without a doubt.
Some of the reasons you people are giving in your argument are just foolish, I mean you're obviously just a bunch of trolling fools but it still pisses me off.
Like..."Fedor is not that good with submissions???" lol come on get real. Out of Andersons 22 wins, 4 are by submission, while Fedor has finished 15 of his by tapout. Might I add that out of Andersons 4 sub wins, 3 of them were taps from strikes. Sooooo.. whos not good with submissions? Fedor is a better grappler than Anderson, period.
Also, are we forgetting Fedors ability to trip, takedown and just generally throw his opponents around? Anderson has weak takedown defense and it would show big time in this fight. Sure he's used to guys shooting double legs on him which is perfect for him to unload a knee into your face. But when have we even seen Fedor attempt a double or even a single? He would simply clinch Anderson and throw him down at will.
Now, once on his back, what is Anderson gonna do? Slap on a body triangle and turn him over? Fedor would stand up, throw the biggest right hand you've ever seen, and probably break Silva's cheek bone to be completely honest. If he can easily power out of Nog's subs , what do you think he would do to Anderson if he tried a triangle or armbar? If Ryo Chonan and Daiju Takase can tap Anderson.. it is very likely Fedor would sink in a rnc or take an arm.
Yes, Anderson has great standup... when wrestlers and jistu players stand back perfectly in Andersons range, let him get comfortable and then unload. What have we seen Fedor do in the past that makes him so damn good? Gameplan! He would go after anderson, he wouldn't let him plant his feet, he'd back him up and would use his standup power to outstrike him and probably set up a takedown or hurt him for a sub. Fedor is INSANELY fast for his size.
I'm not saying Anderson doesn't have a chance...well....nevermind thats exactly what I'm saying. Anderson Silva would not stand a chance against Fedor Emelianenko and there's a very good chance that he would get stopped.
Sorry Silva nuthuggers, he's good but not good enough.
Anyone who thinks Anderson would beat Fedor is a fucking idiot.
How about Tim Sylvia? Could Anderson beat Tim?
"He would go after anderson, he wouldn't let him plant his feet"
I don't know if you've ever seen Anderson fight, but he doesn't plant his feet. He keeps moving, unlike Sylvia who just stood rooted in place while Fedor unloaded on him.
"would use his standup power to outstrike him"
The standup power that rarely has him dropping anybody, whereas Anderson routinely wrecks guys with one shot standing and on the ground?
" If he can easily power out of Nog's subs , what do you think he would do to Anderson if he tried a triangle or armbar?"
Maybe the same thing he did to Crocop when Crocop tried an armbar -- resume holding him down and inflicting no damage.
"Fedor is a better grappler than Anderson, period."
Fedor has never submitted anyone with any ground credentials. In fact, with the exception of 42 year old TK, he has never stopped anyone at all who has a good submission grappling resume. He was on top of Crocop for at least 10 minutes in their fight and never even attempted a submission; nor did he do any noticeable damage with strikes. Anderson finished both Henderson and Marquardt within seconds of getting them on the ground, and submitted Lutter from his back.
Out of curiosity, why didn't you just post your argument on one of the other threads about this rather than starting your own thread?
BJ > DORKUS
you always bring up the CroCop fight as some kind of proof that ANderson could hang on the ground with Fedor, but forget to mention that just 8 months prior to that Anderson lost to Ryo Chonan by submission after being outstruck.
Anderson is amazing, but he is majorly overrated nowadays, the ebst striker he has outstruck are Franklin, Hendo and Murray, all good but none are great.
You also bring up fedor not KOing guys, which is true but Sylvia said that he has never been hit as hard as Fedor hit him and he is fucking enormous, Anderson has been fighting WW and MWs his whole career, aside from Irvin, who could make 185 if he wanted and has hinted at it in the past. Fedor would be too powerful for him in all aspects, in the clinch and on the ground.
CroCop is generally pretty good at avoiding damage on the ground as he has fucking enormous legs, Anderson has a good body triangle off his back and has improved a lot in that area but Fedor still is a lot better than him there, Fedor dismantled the guy that gave Anderson his black belt, a guy that tools Anderson on the ground regularly.
Its all just specualtion from the Fedor haters/UFC fanboys and really just stupid as Anderson has never fought at HWor even talked about it, so even if Fedor came to UFC, this fight wouldnt happen.
Fedor has been the best since 2003. FACT.
