After his recent loss to Dustin Poirier at UFC 164 Featherweight top ten fighter and Roufusport prospect Erik Koch has decided to take a run at the lightweight division. Similarly, and despite winning his fight against Kyung Ho Kang at bantamweight, Chico Camus is looking to drop down to flyweight

I thought Koch and Pettis both trained at Roufus sport?

Dont see Koch ever fighting for the title so that doesnt matter.

They do. I doubt they will ever fight. I think its weird that a young active fighter would enter a division that his training partner is Champion of. I could see Koch going to LW if Pretty Tony was only a contender but he is the Champeen!
Cormier is ditching HW because his homie Cain is Champeen of the division.
that's very interesting news considering Poirier seemed too big and strong for Koch
Not often do you see a guy coming off a loss that decides to move UP in weight. Don't think this is a smart move. LW is even more stacked than FW.
Hikikomori -Pettis said he wouldn't go down to 145 even tho he could until Koch lost to lamas1a1 - I thought Koch and Pettis both trained at Roufus sport?

Bad move
lol what? This seems just as silly as Nate Diaz going back to 170. They would both get rag dolled

Yup, you only see boxers moving up instead of down. Maybe Koch feels he can put on muscle. Koch may also have a speed advantage ala Frankie Edgar.
Frankie Edgar should have never moved down to 145
You can't say for sure, yet. But, he's been getting completely out muscled at 145, I don't foresee 155 being any easier on him. I hope thing's workout for him, either way.

He's also gigantic at 185 and it's 20 extra pounds he doesn't have to cut. Koch seems like a pretty average sized featherweight.
Koch is not making a dent at LW unless the cut the FW was so bad it was the reason he couldn't put it together
discodrew -Bad move
Pitbull3744 -^I agree Frankie totally should have stayed at LW he lost to Benson and thats it.
He also lost to BJ the first time and we all know it...
