If Fedor wants to be considered the "Best fighter in the world" he needs to come to the UFC and prove it. K-1 has turned into a circus, and EXC isn't ready yet. The UFC is where he needs to be.
Maybe he's afraid of real competition?
I don't blame Dana for imposing exclusive rites on his signed talent. It's just good business. But maybe he should make an exception here and bring some of the red devil team in, some to UFC some to WEC. AND let Fedor have his little itty bitty Russian event to keep him happy. Some tiny arena event in Russia is irrelevant in the grand scheme of things.
Oh well...Fedor would probably get destroyed in the Octagon anyway.
"Hmmmm .... Go to UFC and fight guys i can probably beat for crap money.... or go to heros/eliteXC and fight guys i can definatly beat for 10 times what id make in the UFC???"
You are either illiterate or retarded on a historic scale.
He has been the most dominating heavyweight in the history of the sport.
He could retire and his legacy would be just fine.
What he's doing now - now that his financial worries aren't that great is holding out for what he wants without having to sacrifice what he loves (ie: Combat Sambo etc)
He doesn't need the love of the large TUF noob fanbase - he's doing just fine.

Welcome to 2007 Buffgeo. If you had pulled your head out of your ass for a minute or two you might have heard that Fedor's own management has acknowledged that UFC is offering the most money right now.
His manager needs to fuck off for about 4 minutes so this can happen.
Red Devil throw in's can fuck off as well, until they prove they deserve to be there. If they were good enough I doubt that they would need to be part of a Fedor deal.
The only thing I dont understand, was the whole Sambo thing. WTF? Dana does strike me as the sort who would dictate to a fighter how he spends his time. As for the red devil manager loading fighters into the UFC......did I miss something and the UFC suddenly has a huge stable of solid heavies? Outside of the 170's and the 155's I think the UFC could USE some foreign talent.
I am guessing this whole thing turned into a massive ego match between Dana and Fedor's manager. Dana should promote the business, keep making cable/tv deals and get someone else to sign fighters. The guy is very polarizing sometimes, and acts as if he is some sort of Roman gladiator keeper who owns people, most people have to be a little turned off by that. And guys who are internationally sought after dont have to tolerate it.
Sucks about the Red Devil fighters being forced onto UFC, but I respect Fedor for being loyal to Combat Sambo.
However, are you guys forgetting that some fighters are in UFC/WEC purely due to connections and not exactly talent/record? It's happened before and it'll continue to happen.
He shouldn't expect to be paid more than anyone else in the world and also compete in combat sambo. Fedor was out most of 2006 with a broken hand. He's not indestructible.
So combat sambo is more dangerous than riding a motorcycle? Since the competitions are not balls out (from what I have seen) regular sparring for a high level pro looks more intense. It would make more sense to me if he had some fascination with hang gliding or competing in pro motocross, but since competing in Sambo only makes him better at sambo/judo it is in essence just more training isnt it?
Are other fighters prevented from competing in sport grappling when they sign with the FC?
"Shady ass managers/agents will destroy this sport now that there is money to be made, mark my words"
add promoters to that as well and you are correct.
"Trent Green signed with the Dolphins this off-season. If he asked the team to play in a softball league, tennis, or in any other organization where there was even the slightest chance of getting injured, no matter how small the chance was, Randy Mueller (The GM) would laugh in his face and then say "no.""
Really? Then why do I always see NFl players on those star athlete competitions (where they sprint, lif weights, run obstacles etc.) There is still a pro bowl every year too isnt there?
Pro athletes might be PRESENTED with activity limiting contracts, but they dont HAVE to sign them, pretty simple isnt it? The are still people and not property, they can decide what they agree to. And if push comes to shove, I dont think any NFL teams are going to not sign a 1st round draft pick stud because he still plays in his church softball league. They might put a clause in saying he wont get paid if he gets hurt playing with the god squad, but they sure as hell wont disallow him from doing it.
