The latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter (subscription info at http://www.wrestlingobserver.com) reports that there is an almost zero percent chance that Fedor will sign with the UFC (for reasons the Newsletter detailed extensively a couple weeks ago). His most likely options are Hero's and Elite XC.
Hopefully he fights Barnett soon.

The only fight for him outside the ufc is barnett. If I was Fedor id be worried about my legacy. His biggest wins are Nog and Cro Cop, and they both have looked very beatable recently. very weak. this is turning into boxing.
Yeah...Dana is an ass for offering him more money than anyone else and suggesting that a guy as injury prone(his thumb) as Fedor stick to competing for the company that is offering him a huge contract.
I am big Fedor fan and I dont care much for Dana at all, but only the ones doing the negotiations really know what's going on.
If Fedor joins another league and it becomes a true rival to the UFC I'm all for it, competition is good. If he just joins a bush league and whips on cans then it'll be bad for everyone.
Anybody who criticizes the best fighter in the world for trying to get paid should be banned from this site.
Dont really care if he is in UFC if Barnett follows him wherever he goes. Fedor has nothing to prove Barnett is his last real challenge.
Fedor doesnt need the UFC to legitimize his career. The UFC on the other hand needs Fedor to Legitimize their HW division. No matter who is champ of UFC they are not the best in the world until they beat Fedor.
I want Fedor in the UFC fighting the best but really the UFC doesn't need Fedor especially if he signs with K-1 because no one other than the Japanese/hardcore fans will pay attention to Hero's.
We dont know the facts at all but from what we've heard Fedors been offered more than liddell, and fedor is totally unproven(drawing wise) in the North American market. If Fedor really believed in himself too he could have a few fights and then as champ be able to demand even more as the face of the UFC. Then he would be getting more than he ever would get headlining EliteXC or something. I blame Fedor.

As was previously reported - issues with signing Fedor included the manager's demands to have other members of Fedor's fight team join the UFC as well. Plus a UFC event in Russia, co-promoted by the manager.
That, plus the inability to compete in Sambo is counterbalancing the fact that the UFC has made the largest money offer for Fedor.
as much as i want to continue to see him prove himself against the best, i have a ton of respect for what he is doing... if more great fighters would do the same, blaf's leverage would be 0. I wish more people (especially fighters) would praise him for his actions.

In that case RIP Fedor's legacy
Fedor is one of the most exciting fighters around. More than the fact that most consider him #1, I think the entertainment value he brings to the ring is the main reason I would want to see him in the UFC, if I were Dana. LOL at legitmacy.
At least if he signs with K1 will finally get to see him fight Akebono.
