A judge agreed Friday to postpone a jail sentence against Floyd Mayweather Jr. in a Las Vegas domestic violence case, allowing the undefeated boxer to make a Cinco de Mayo fight against an as-yet unnamed opponent.
The ruling by Justice of the Peace Melissa Saragosa to allow Mayweather to begin his 90-day stint on June 1 came with the fighter's manager and supporters, including rap star Lil' Kim and R&B artist Ray J, in the courtroom as a defense lawyer cited the economic boost that Las Vegas could get from the bout.

Nevada boxing officials say they want to meet with Floyd Mayweather about his license before he enters the ring this spring.
Mayweather has not yet applied for a license for his May 5 bout in Las Vegas against a still-unnamed opponent; however, the head of the Nevada State Athletic Commission, Keith Kizer, told TMZ when he does he will have to sit down with the commission.
"The commission looks at experience, integrity, character and skill to determine whether or not it's appropriate to issue a license," Kizer said.

Couples with kids who both get jail time often have one of their sentences deferred so they can be with the kids while the other serves their time. Floyd actually brings in multi-millions of dollars for Vegas and others and for some reason him getting deferred so that other people don't lose money is a problem?
