For everyone who wasted their time with BJJ, would you go back in time and take Sambo if offered?

At the time, there was a shootfighting school and a Gracie JJ school that opened around the same time.

Ultimately, I chose the Gracie school because a mate of mine got beat up by someone from the shootfighting school and I had some antagonistic feelings toward that school.

Volk is a legend

And Islam’s Sambo helped him win against him 4-1.

If you had any clue what you were watching, you would know there is more than just Sambo involved

I didn’t say that’s all that was involved. Khabib has learned a lot of styles over the years to merge with his Sambo which is all taught at Nurmagomedov MMA School, the best gym in the world.

Combat Sambo is his base though. The best base.

Trolling would imply I don’t believe what I’m saying though, but I do in fact believe what I’m saying.

Nurmagomedov school is not only the best in the world, but the best team of all time.

But they really aren’t doing Sambo. Do you see Khabib training in a Kimono top recently?

Abdulmanap didn’t even just strictly train Sambo. The family has been merging combat arts for generations.

So stop calling them Sambo guys.

Combat Sambo blows BJJ away though and is a much better MMA base as it boasts much more all encompassing hand to hand combat techniques.

My point stands.

I mean depends. Its all “MMA” at this point. You NEED to train all.

In pure submission grappling, jiujitsu has shown to beat sambo time and time again.

Gordon Ryan is the best submission grappler etc.

Pure submission grappling is not MMA though.

Combat Sambo is a much better base for MMA.

Again its all MMA. And its debatable. More UFC champs have been BJJ Black Belts than Sambo and Sambo has been around much longer
