Forum migration is set for April 1st...

Is it true there are no pages, so everytime I revisit a long thread I'll have to scroll until I figure out where I left off?

It is true that there are no pages, but not true for the second part of your question.

It has an auto-memory funtion that drops you off where you dropped out.

So, for example, if Soup Nazi does a long thread, and you only get 1/3rd of the way through it and exit, then the next time you enter the thread it will take you back to the point you left off.

There is also a ‘fast scrolling’ bar too.

Holy fuck that will be awesome

You will also have the option to get notifications if new replies (and how many). have been addded since last time you read.

Not trying to be a dick, but what’s up with the space/underscore thing?

Seems almost like an April Fool’s prank that there’s going to be a brand new forum with so many new features and it can’t handle what seems like one of the most basic things ever.

No way bro, it's 2021 and there is no way to have a badass message board that isn't worth it without having under scores in the screen names.

What’s the difference between watched topics and subscriptions?

What are the benefits of a pro membership on the new site?

iOS app is done. It will be an updated to the existing app. Google Play app is in process. It may or may not be ready for April 1st. Alternatively, you can download the Discourse Hub app and simply connect to forums.mixedmartialarts.com

No need to write down old threads, they are all already migrated (forums.mixedmartialarts.com). Go ahead, search.

Thank god, I was afraid I would actually have to make an effort

10:04 and we’re still standing!

the new site

Will the app be dead, and the forum only available through url?

if yes, will there be a new app soon?

What about for those of us that are only on the app?  Does anything change?  Will this app still work?

We have already rebuilt the app. It is already approved and will be released on April 1st as well once the migration is complete.

How will find it. I am assuming it’s a new app, and not the underground. Will it be discourse?

So you're saying the nearly 300 jackasses I have on ignore will suddenly be unignored on the new site? And I'll have to manually ignore each one all over again? Fuck that shit lol

Will my spreadsheets migrate?

We are officially migrating the forum to Discourse starting on March 31st, at 10:00 PM EST. The forum will be put into maintenance mode and unavailable for approximately 12 hours, as some 1.2 million threads and 33 million + replies, and countless other data points are migrated to their new home.

We will go live on Discourse at approximately 10:00 AM EST on April 1st. At that time, the URLs for mixedmatialarts.com/forums and forum.mixedmartialarts.com will redirect to the new Discourse forums.

What will be migrated

-Your user account with screen name and join date. Note: any spaces in your existing username have been replaced with an underscore. (ie Soup Nazi is now Soup_Nazi). We understand that this is not ideal, but the improvements are such that it is all worth it, x 1,000.

-All of your threads (now topics) created in history and all replies in all existing threads.

-All subscribed threads (now called watched topics).

-All private messages between you and other users. Private messaging is now more so a topic (thread) that is only accessible to the two people involved, not a traditional email-like messaging system.

How will I login?

We will migrate all user account information including passwords. You will be able to log into your account with your existing email (or screen name) and password. If you have forgotten your password, or you want a new password. you can do a password reset on the new site.

If you do not know your password and do not have access to the email associated with your account, please email support@mixedmartialarts.com after the cutover and we will help you get set up.

What will not be migrated

-Current pro member or business members status: The new Discourse subscription system was too different from our existing structure to migrate properly. If you are an existing pro or business member, please email Chris directly (chris@mixedmartialarts.com) and we will get this addressed as soon as we cut over. We understand this isn’t ideal, so no matter how much time is left on your current account, everyone with an existing pro or business membership will start with a new one year membership at no cost.

-Ignore list: If you have ignored a user in the past, you will see their posts and topics. You will simply need to ignore them again and you will never see their topics or posts again.

Chris, will the people ignored still be able to see and comment on their posts?

I think we should have an ignore/mute function, but as I made a thread about, there are plenty of people who will not post here or leave quickly because they cannot stop creepy motherfuckers from reading their posts and trying to discern information from them with bad intention...usually over stupid shit.

Any chance of us getting this function?

He`s making bank on all of the advertising & bringing in massive amounts of cash from all of the athletic commissions paying him each month.
