The UFC’s top lightweight is preparing for his showdown against Gray Maynard at UFC 125 on New Year’s Day, but dream fights are a part of MMA, and just about everyone has asked about Edgar facing UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo somewhere down the road.
“I try to ignore it just because it makes you nervous more than anything to be honest,” Edgar told MMAWeekly Radio about a potential fight against Aldo. “That’s why I’m glad you only have to prepare for one fight at a time. If this was like tournament style my mind would be racing too much.”
“This division is deep and especially with the WEC getting acquired by the UFC, it’s that much more deeper. The challenge will last me a long time at this weight class."
