He’s def the most dominant no gi guy ever. As much as he can be an ass at least he’s willing to get out there and prove it against anyone and everyone. I have a ton of respect for that. If Galvao drops out due to “injury”, which I’m giving it about 75% chance he will, his reputation will never recover. That would be sad because Galvao is one of the greatest ever as well, I think he’s just extremely intimidated by GR.

Ryan is awesome. Dude backs up every word of shit he talks and completely shook up the BJJ. I think that he has a lot of these “legends” shook.

Yeah, every word. He stepped up on a public stage and put his name on the line and got beat, but that’s 100% more balls than any of the other “legends” who “win” championships by bullshit advantage points or hitting half-assed takedowns with :10 left in a match.
In the jiu jitsu world, Gordon Ryan is as real as it gets.
He’s the real life Rickson Gracie, who actually backed/backs up all of the stories about him.

Buuuut having balls is not the same as backing up the claim you are going to out wrestle someone and then getting tech’d in 30 seconds.
Or claiming that you’re going to win Mundials- weight and open… and then just never doing it because you “don’t like it”
Or claiming you’re also going to be the greatest MMA fighter of all time, signing to ONE and then… having a No Gi match? With Shinya Aoki?
GR has enough actual credentials to praise him without having to lie to yourself.
