This is true, but they also didn’t become stars because of the UFC. They were both journey men anti-hero types, where the fan base rallied around them to make them stars. Dana was famously saying Nate “didn’t move the needle” shortly before he got the Conor fight. And that was because fans picked him, not the UFC.

Yeah boxing has this perfect record fetish that is dumb.
Its cool when someone like Mayweather pulls it off, but a loss is just a learning experience and MMA is much better in that regard.

Before Dana White was part of the UFC there was an overwhelmingly superior organisation called Pride in Japan where it was already acceptable to lose.

What does this even mean
He should fight a tune up style fight against someone who isn’t known for hurting people and evaluate himself after the fight. He was seriously hurt in a wreck. The damage taken looks like it altered him. People are just caring about the guy. No shame in not wanting a good guy to get his brains knocked out because he is too stubborn for his own good after an accident.
