Gabe = new Sam Hogar???

In the first season of TUF most people got a bad taste in their mouth over Sam. This season everyone hates Gabe. Was Gabe trying to get the notoriaty that Sam got from the whole "Beanie" incident? Or is he really just that big of a douche bag in real life?
