Fight Circuit MMA, hosted by veteran UFC referee and fighter Herb Dean, is dedicated to highlighting local talent and offering local athletes the chance to take their careers to the next level. In its debut event, Victorious, Fight Circuit MMA comes to Mavericks Stadium in Adelanto. Ruediger competed in the second season of Spike TV’s popular reality show, and went on to fight the colorful Melvin “the Young Assassin” Guillard. Ruediger won his last fight earlier this year by rear naked choke 30 seconds into the first round. Lehman, dropping down a weight class from welterweight, comes into the fight on the strength of back to back wins in the MMA scene in Mexico. He now prepares for his toughest fight in his own backyard. Well. . . .over 20 marathons under my belt, the last at age 51, before my knee crapped out. Or you could ask the mugger who took me for an easy mark. And yes, I took a schoolboy punch as a kid and reacted just like Gabe, but I was not a pro fighter nor did I have any ambitions to be one.
Okay, I was ribbing a little on Gabe, but I didn't think he had the discipline and dedication to be a real fighter. I hope he gives me some contrary evidence Sunday.
