I saw him wreck Mike Brown at UFC 47. Class act.
Respect to the Neo Samurai. I was always a fan. It's a shame to realize how few meaningful fights he had in his career, and that his last ever match was against Demacio fucking Page.
My all time favourite.
I never got to see him live though I lived in Japan during his prime.
Went to Dynamite 2004 but he skipped that year and was on Dynamite 2003 and 2005 lol
Not much love for the Neo Samurai.
You make me sad UG

We Are All One
He was awesome. I really loved his fight with Ludwig and of course the Butterbean fight. He was an awesome personality and talent.
Samoa -I saw him wreck Mike Brown at UFC 47. Class act.
That was the first event I ever watched. Came home from the zoo and my dad had ordered it haha. Genki Sudo is the man
Man, I remember Sudo around the early 00's. His style was just one of a kind.
Sudo vs Penn, Edwards or Pulver would have been epic back then.
He was a true all-rounder. He could KO you, take you down or submit you with some flying shit.
MMA is missing characters like Sudo these days. Not just guys who have got their own style, but are colorful as well.

I got to see that in Press Row..............my favorite night as a fan. I covered the event for TheFightFactor.com. I was amazed at how empty the arena was for the prelims. Wild. I got to interview Big John, Rogan, Randy (wasn't fighting), Hackleman, Yves, Cabbage, Diaz and Wes Sims. Good times.
We are all one
My fav fighter of all time. First fighter to robot in the cage. First flying triangle. First wrestler grab ankle to helicopter to ankle lock.
Kron consciously or not paid tribute after his Risen fight
I think i first saw him at Brawl in the Hall. His flying triangle attempt was great. His back take to rnc was fucking phenomenal. Let alone that funky break dancing stand up. Just fing beautiful. Lee Remedious was well rounded but that unorthodox style had him scratching his head like lice.
Can't find that fight so here is the Mike Brown one
Sadly people now a days just won't understand how unique he was back then
Genki was one of my favourite fighters. A creative genius in the cage/ring. I still have one of the old "we are all one" t-shirts here somewhere.
I thought he retired too early. I was shocked to see him lose to Kid Yamamoto. I know it was in Kid's prime, but he Genki was a better fighter by miles IMO.

It's been years since I saw that fight, but I remember thinking it was an early stoppage. Genki got dropped by a punch and the referee jumped in and stopped the fight like his car was double parked.
