Hello UG! Just completed another video breakdown. Due to several requests, this time it's about a southpaw vs. orthodox matchup, which is completely different from orthodox vs. orthodox.
With an unrivalled kickboxing win-streak, Giorgio Petrosyan is just so technically sound. This breakdown introduces important southpaw vs. orthodox principles. Some draw on big MMA fights, such as the rear-kick to inside of lead-leg (Anderson Silva vs. Weidman), and punishing the switch-kick to outside of lead-leg (GSP to Johny Hendricks).
In addition, it highlights lead-hand control, rear-thigh kicks, and rear knees.
Hope you enjoy it!
vote up. Whats the link to your other one? Do you have any on setting up head kicks?

forcing slips and feints off your jab is a good way to set head kicks up.
its a chess match...force their movement

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC9tDOUA6AnQ7LNe3b70QwKAAs for southpaw vs. orthodox head kicks, this is a masterful setup by Orono:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iG_GZwjIc2Y Lyoto Machida, GSP, Donald Cerrone, Anthony Pettis all have used this setup successfully.
Forcing slips and attacking right after is another ; clinch exit with a push is very popular. Attacking with a hook, forcing the lean back into a long-range head-kick is also effective.

LawrenceKenshin - Thanks for the great feedback guys.
Do you have any background in combat or martial arts?
Thanks for the vids! I love the Ernesto Hoost low kick breakdown.
mongrel 911 - Thanks for the vids! I love the Ernesto Hoost low kick breakdown.
Thanks bud! Joe Rogan inspired me to do it. I wrote an article about Hoost's low-kick and tweeted it to Joe. He gave me incredible feedback and I decided that a video ought to be made.
The reception for that video was surprisingly good, so I kept going. Since then, countless coaches and athletes gave me props. It's been an incredible journey so far and I'm grateful =).
Great Video! Any way you can tell me what the background music of the first half of the video was?
