Good luck side stepping this BJJ takedown attempt

Wow... this officially marks the point at which BJJ spirals downward into the abyss.  I'm almost embarrassed to say I train after seeing this video.  I surely hope that none of the people who I have tried to explain BJJ to end up seeing this video and forming an opinion of me because of it.

Sickening.

I used to trane with a Bellator vet that liked to play inverted guard in BJJ. Tricky little worm.

Jesus Christ Phone Post

I wonder how Rickson feels about this.

I am ashamed :(

That shits embarrassing.

Inverted guard is good for sport bjj on occasion, abreu plays it a lot. This is not one of those times. Phone Post

Watch, this is going to become a "thing" now. Phone Post

Unfortunately, Train Judo doesn't haunt these halls much anymore. He would go plum postal over this shit. I should cross post it on his Facebook.

I guess I don't get why that is wrong... Phone Post

Because the original selling feature of BJJ is that you will win an unarmed one-on-one fight with no rules.

From a sport perspective, there's nothing wrong, imo, of playing inverted guard, but it's utility starts and ends there.

Paging Train Judo!

Sweet inverted Mantis.

Whole lot of peeps mad up in here.

garbage

in before DTW claims he taught that guy the technique 2 weeks before the tourny

Steve4192 - It's a shame TrainJudo isn't around anymore.

This thread is right up his alley.

train judo would hit this one out the park

2 things

I hate this kind of shit and yes its embarassing and completely impractical for real life fighting.

Best part is the standning guy dives in and gets insta triangled to lol.

Last thing is Ryan Hall does a lot of this stuff in sport BJJ, but his last pro fight last weekend, he instantly shot a double, sat out took the back and pounded the guy until he gave up his neck and got the RNC. Hall is awesome, and understands and explains a lot of the differences between sport and mma well.

We don't play that game in CACC. We have these nifty little things called "Take downs". If I was a bjj guy I would be disappoint.
