posted on OG... any feedback guys? oh and pre-emptive "BEEP" for you fuckers...
seriously considering becoming vegetarian.
probably start off pescatarian (ie vegetarian w/ fish mixed in at times).
i don't want to lose in terms of overall strength.
you see guys like shields and that dude from the chiefs do it. im sure other athletes.
any good resources out there. not books on vegetarianism and why meat is bad. i personally have NO issue w/ butchering for a nice steak, but i am solely basing this on health reasons.
i have several vegetarian friends who are in phenomenal shape and athletic. they are a good resource, but i was hoping there was a book that provides good recipes that maximize protein consumption, etc... and help maintain high energy.
thanks.
I would def like to know how Shields does it, IIRC he is Vegan.
WFA and don't be a faggot
Check out "that dude from the chiefs" book...and don't miss the best recipe in the book, it's for garlic pepper wrongforum asshole stew.
savage animal - I would def like to know how Shields does it, IIRC he is Vegan.
Shields isn't a vegan. He eats eggs.
^^^
and probably uses whey protein
I was the last ten years on a typical athletes diet. A lot of chicken, cottafge cheese, lean meat, fish, vegetables.....
And honestly I felt every year how my recovery was taking longer and longer (I´am 33). In may I turned vegan. I eat meat and fish maybe every 10 days usually at dinner but the rest of the time no animal products.
And let me tell you:
IT WAS THE BEST DECISION I COULD DO.
My recovery time and my endurance is so much better I can train like in my eary twenties.:-)
I kow it sounds crazy and I still love meat but when I compare the feeling after a hard workout it is not even close and being vegan gives me tons more energy.
I´am not someone who is vegan because of political reasons or to save the world the most important reason for me is that I feel much much better.
Try it. It will surprise you.
Take care

ttt.
Vegan checking in.
Bjorn, no offense but if you still eat animal products, you are not a vegan. I believe the nutrients you get from the protein makes a difference to your body.
I was a vegetarian for six years. I was a true vegan for four years. For four years I did not eat any animal products -- no meat, cheese, dairy, honey, eggs, fish, chicken.
It's been a good ten years since I was a vegan.
I say that becoming a vegetarian was the best thing I ever did and stoppin being a vegetarian was also the best thing I ever did.
Most people's diets are rather poor and they could benefit a lot from eating a vegetarian diet.
As an athlete, it was a real challenge for me to train 20 to 30 hours a week and not feel famished all the time while being a vegan.
By the end of those four years I felt like I was wasting away. As soon as I started eating meat again I put on 20+ pounds of muscle.
If I were to drop meat again from my diet, I'd make sure to use a whey protein mix several times a day and still eat lots of egg whites, tuna, sardines and fish.
Dont do it man. Meat itself isnt bad, eating the wrong meats in the wrong proportions is the problem.
LOL @ equating manhood with eating dead animal flesh. Maybe cavemanhood, but theres this thing called evolution. Look it up. I have been Vegan/Vegitarian for 35 years. No problems. Im 54 look 38 and fu*k like im 18...
Eating meat is wrong.
Kostakio - Eating meat is wrong.
a personal choice
thanks guys.
i don't plan on going vegetarian or vegan fullon.
i still plan on using tuna or some fish here and there.
any more resources?

If you can't stomach beans or eggs don't become a vegetarian. Vegan diet is stupid and unhealthy.
