Gracie Barra Irvine schedule: "Study Hall"???

Was thinking of checking this academy out; looked at the schedule and saw "study hall."

Anybody know what that's about?

Also, any reviews about the training there from those who've had experience would be appreciated.

study hall is basically mat time to go over and drill specific techniques and or positions, you and your partner alternate for a couple minutes each and go over whatever you like with each other Phone Post

Study Hall sucks!!!

I usually tell the class monitor that I forgot to pay a particular fee and they'll usually let me go down to the business office.

Then I sneak out to 7-11 or go over to the empty Cafetorium and log on to the OG.

no an instructor still runs the class but mostly just watches and helps. Phone Post

In that area I would hit up Mike Tomacelli in Costa Mesa. It's about 15-20min away and unlimited is still around $100/mo. Very good instructor as well, prob one of the most underated in the area. I think one of the posters on this forum trains their as well.

If I had to guess, it's probably open mat/Q&A. Why don't you just call and ask

I train with Tomacelli. Anyone that talks shit about the guy obviously doesnt know him. Great instructor...one of the nicest all around guys Ive ever met. Anyone and everyone always welcome. Goes out of his way for all of his students..
Might be hard to impress someone that judges schools by the amount of mundial winners they produce, but why dont you stop by and meet the guy before you trash him?

Yup, must be. Wasn't looking for an instructor that could take advantage his heavy Judo background with a similar style or anything. Whatever.
