Surely the problem for British fighters at the highest level in the sport is that they have been losing on the ground. Dan Hardy in recent fights, Paul Daley against Josh Koscheck…

“You have to grow slowly. Before you go to University you have to go to kindergarten, then to high school. Right now in England they are about 10 years old [in ground skills]. I’ve been teaching in America 25 years, my brother was here 15 years before that so we have been here teaching all that time. They are babies in England right now, 10 years old…It takes time.”

“This is a strategy game. It’s as simple as that. You can’t think ‘I’m going in there, I’m going to hit him a few times, go for the takedown, hit him with a few elbows, take his back, and submit him…’ Is that a strategy ? No. It’s a wish. Strategy is when you figure out what your opponent is going to do, then you set up your game plan, either defensive, or offensive, or both…”

“You have to figure out your opponent’s game, so you can take him out of his game. Most likely, the strategy is constructed before, but can also be when you are in there. There’s plan A, plan B and sometimes you have to pull out plan C during the fight.”

moving to america wont give him a better chin.

Maybe a bigger belly Phone Post

Words from the man himself. Royce is my hero. Phone Post

I think he meant "British fighters are babies"... Phone Post

Only Bisping and Hathaway have ground games IMO. The rest don't because quality Ju-jitsu is hard to come by and wrestling is non-existent as we don't have it taught in schools like the USA.

Hahahaha.

i'm pretty sure the UKTT are huddling up right now trying to figure out how they're going to spin this one

"alright lads... the gracies ratted our bloody arses out... how in the feck do we handle this ?"

hell, they might not even bother showing their faces on the internet again

Lol, I wouldn't bet on that Phone Post

Or maybe they just got the punctuation wrong, maybe he did say "British fighters are babies." and started his next sentence with " In MMA.." and then lost his train of thought due to pondering why he was being interviewed by this guy and not someone motorboat worthy like Karyn Nryant Phone Post

In all fairness bisping did pretty well on the ground against rashad and he's a stud wrestler but aside from him and hathaway the other Brits are limited Phone Post

Fucking UG news. Always try to make controversy out of nothing.

Bobby Sparkle - I think its fair comment to a point. The fact the UK have best MW in Bisping is incredible. Considering how early UK in its development UK MMA is. Props to The Count.

The UKs best middle weight?
