All divisions and weight classes are listed on the website. Go to souteasternjiujitsu.com for registration forms and other information.
THE GRUDGE CUP:
All 2nd and 3rd place finalist will be eligible to compete in a team event as soon as the tournament ends and medals / trophies are handed out. Teams will be selected at random by judges for the best matches. Each team will have 5 to 7 members who will compete in their weight class for the best-of-5 or best-of-7 round. The winning team will receive medals or trophies for the grudge cup win.
VICTORY POINTS:
The Southeastern Jiu- Jitsu Association will keep track of every competitor’s points and rank them according to points accumulated throughout the year. At the end of the calendar year, the top four competitors of each weight class in the intermediate and advance divisions will be invited for the championship in October 2010.
Points are simple: 1 point for a match won by Judge’s decision, 3 points if a match is won by submission. Example: you opponent may win three matches by judge’s decision (3 points total). But you may lose the last match but submit opponents to get to the finals (you will have 6 points). In this case, you will receive second place at the tournament, but you will be ranked first in the rankings!
So, competitors will be ranked by the points accumulated by matches won- not the points during the match! And the more events you compete in, the more points (or chances) you have to add to your ranking!

The competition shirts for this event will feature the association gyms and schools on the back. If you wish to be a part of the association, please call me.
