This is by far one of my favorite sweeps. I hit it all the time. But i have never seen this finish. If done at fool speed in a tournament i would think it would end the match from the slam. Would it be legal? I am inclined to say yes as it is a type of high crotch single leg. any opinions?

As shown in that video, I can't see why there would be a problem. Cool sweep.

Agreed.
Now, if you're a dufus and spike the guy on his head, you're going to have problems.
The way it is shown in the video it is not illegal but I was asking if done at full force and purposely slam your opponent. Not spike him on his head of course but rather slam him hard on his back ala Rampage Arona. I believe that slams are only illegal if done from inside the guard? is this correct?
All that shit just to get to a standing crotch lift in order to sweep/pass? LOL
Why can't you just take his back?
Greco Crotch lift. Basic greco parre-terre technique. He is also most likely a wrestler. Another move that is legal in every level of wrestling, but "too dangerous" for grown men doing BJJ?
^Brings back some open tournament memories(nightmares)... ;)

Your video is cool but what i was asking was actually picking up your opponent and slamming him on his back. The way the wrestler did it in you video wouldnt do anything in a jiu jitsu match. Probably not even an advantage point. Still, cool to see jiu jitsu incorporating wrestling techniques.

I agree. We will see more wrestling/BJJ integration in the future.
If done wrong the triangle is right there.
oh no the mokeflip!
claudio calasans is a bad ass judo player, if you pick the guy and put him down it should be legal , if you slam him probably not.
I've been moke-flipping fer years. Old move.

This seems to be a gray area in the rules as they simply state no slamming from guard. Ive gotten double legs where i have seriously slammed the guy not just picked him up and put him down. never been DQed. I dont see how this would be different but still a gray area in our sport.
Can't believe you guys aren't familiar with the "moke-flip"
