GSP is still the Shoot Box King

BirdWatcher - Still so impressive seeing how GSP dictates where the majority of his fights go, standing or ground he had an answer.

That superman punch/slip/leg kick combo is a thing of beauty.

Interesting how much everyone appreciates GSP now that he's gone.

I for one always appreciated him

This is why I see Rory taking the belt from Robbie, he's basically what GSP was 8 years ago.  But if Rory loses, I expect GSP to come back to take his belt back from Robbie.

Rory isn't near the td machine that GSP is...even though I think Rory can still beat Lawler

He will fight again.

Lets be real. Healthy gsp wrecks Lawler. Phone Post 3.0

This was epic and the follow up elbow is fucking bosslike.

GSP was the most well rounded MMA fighter of all time.

The Shockmaster - He looks so much more ripped and athletic in the Serra and Fitch fights than his more recent ones.

They were all on something in that era.
It's like every fighter was tanner in his prime. Tan Hughes cleaned house, but pale Hughes lost to tan GSP. Tan GSP became the GOAT, but pale GSP ended up in close fights with Condit, Diaz, and Hendricks. And tan Hendricks won the belt. Phone Post 3.0

That first fight against Kos, and particularly that sequence where he stuffed Kos' TD attempt, is one of the best demonstrations of athleticism in MMA history Phone Post 3.0

BirdWatcher - I think a GSP fight that doesn't get talked about enough is the Trigg fight. Frank was 12-3 after his second title fight against Hughes and those fights were really good. When GSP fought him right after he men handled him quite easily. Mount then back, mount then back then RNC at the end of the first.

That's one of my favourite fights of all time.

Frank said GSP was a B level fighter and talked all other kinds of bullshit and Georges made him his little bitch in the most one-sided beating I've ever seen in MMA. Phone Post 3.0

Love the division right now but no one compares. Phone Post 3.0

Nice gifs^ do you have the one where he drops Diaz with a leg kick while Diaz is attempting a head kick.

interesting note: trigg said he broke his ankle shooting on gsp.

Trigg is underated because of the Hughes fights and GSP but Trigg was top 3/5 WW for a long time. Somebody mentioned Trigg may have broken his ankle shooting on GSP ....maybe...all i know i was SHOCKED to see how easily GSP cross faced/pancaked Trigg off Trigg's shot. Trigg and Hughes were the best wrestlers in the WW for that era (along with Sherk maybe in 3rd). And GSP schooled him in wrestling.
