Happy birthday Lil Evil!

Pleasant Valley is proud to announce another new member to our High School wrestling staff, Jens Pulver. Coach Pulver has joined the program to bring his extensive background in wrestling, MMA, boxing and UFC experience as an assistant volunteer coach.

Jens is a proud PV parent, he and his wife Kannika, have 3 children, their middle child is a freshman and competing for our JV team.

Jens was introduced to wrestling in 6th grade, he won 2 state championships in high school and went on to wrestle in college for Boise State, but suffered a collegiate career ending injury.

In college, Coach Pulver took an interest in MMA and Jiu-Jitsu, training with the BJJ academy, his coach started entering him in MMA tournaments. He liked this style of competing and moved to California to continue his pursuit. Coach Pulver became the first 155 pound UFC Champion. He moved to Iowa to train with Pat Militch, which allowed Jens to make permanent roots here.

Coach Pulver retired from combat sports in 2014 and most noteable, was inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame in 2023.

We are excited to welcome Coach Pulver into our wrestling community!
