HBO: bitching about signing UFC

"And LOL at the high moral standards at HBO! Way to make your new viewers like ya there Lipschitz!"

i guess that fella has never actually watched HBO,the king of shockumentary. I mean with "pimps up hoes down", "Hookers at the Point",The series about the brothel, Real sex any episode (the lesbian "club" with random manish chick pulling out rubber dongs to bang other random lesbians was an all time high), the series OZ, etc.

Its not like the network itself doesnt have some pretty edgy stuff on it. Like I said I doubt the guy has ever watched an evening of HBO programming given his completly dipshit comments about interity and storied history. Well I guess Prostitution does have a looooong history.

"...UFC appeals to a fan base and demographic that boxing doesn't have right now," Greenberg told Hauser.

And never will agian, get used to it. (disclaimer: I like boxing but the "new" kids don't care)

I have HBO so no prob for me but this would appear to be the end of the WEC on HDNET if the WEC rumor is true.

Fights should also, be HD on HBO though.

WEC is going to be on the Versues network, that is going to rock!

FSN, Versues, Spike, HBO, Showtime

It is happening people, just like we knew it all along. MMA is taking over.

TBidness

What is Versues?

Is HDNET going to carry anymore MMA?

Why the hell did I put a comma in this sentence? "Fights should also, be HD on HBO though."

"And never will agian, get used to it. (disclaimer: I like boxing but the "new" kids don't care)"

get real, boxing is one popular American heavyweight away from having the biggest attraction in all of sports across all age ranges.

lol @ boxings history. It is the most corrupt sport out there. How many times have you seen a fighter get robbed out of a decision because he wasnt the up and commer? Boxing can take a hike for all I care, and I used to be a huge fan...

"get real, boxing is one popular American heavyweight away from having the biggest attraction in all of sports across all age ranges."

Not sure that's true anymore.

"Like I said I doubt the guy has ever watched an evening of HBO programming"

not to mention one reason HBO originally got popular in it's early days was that it showed softcore porn at night.

the HBO boys did not express themselves very well... I think  underneath it all there is a kernel of a point... but it's too difficult to discern.

Why does UFC NEED HBO? Seems like the company and sport are growing fine without them.

LOFL @ HBO being proud of their association with Don King.

" It attaches itself to history, achievement, and glory. UFC has none of
those things, and it will tarnish HBO's boxing franchise"

Yeah like having convicted killer Don King in the ring after every title
fight promotes a postive image. And convicted rapist Mike Tyson was
a frequent HBO star. HBO tarnishes itself quite well already.

this could be the best thing to happen to HBO boxing as well. when the UFC comes up and scares them, maybe they will NEED to put the best matchups on and be less likely to air alphabet mismatches.

fans of both (like myself) win!

I guess that explains why we never saw the UFC on Realsports, that show has been around for 10 years and they still haven't featured anything on MMA.

MMA has history. It's just not as talked about because everyone is watching MMA now as opposed to 10 years ago.

Fuck them, there boss wants it so too fucking bad, they are those old guys who have no idea what our sport is about....

HBO is the same channel that runs America Undercover specials, with real life crack heads stealing shit right on camera! Not too mention Hookers on the point etc. Wouldn't that be illegal to witness crimes and not report them? My point obviously is the boxing guys over at HBO are pissed, because nobody cares about the one sport they carry. They will be even more upset when UFC outdraws boxing....which I think it will given time.

good points illibri. For HBO to take a high-brow stance on programming--while airing that garbage in the guise of documentary--is ridiculous.

I want to work at HBO now.

"Boxing has a storied history"

pankration does too
