"I had a good one and a half, two rounds," said Henderson, who admitted he ran into some difficulty with his weight cut. "I just got a little tired for whatever reason. Jake had a great game plan. He covered well on top and stayed there, and I did a very bad job getting up. He deserves all the respect."
old age,you cant beat father time.

Quite possibly. He may have thought "I land one right hand and you're done", didn't count on Shields being able to weather the storm, and by the time he figured it out, he was too gassed to do anything about it. I've never seen Hendo handled so easily, I mean, take a look at who he's fought, not even Big Nog manhandled him as easy as Shields did.
Too long of a layoff and too goood of a fighter to come back to. Hendo takes me for the kind of guy that would be enjoying himself on his time off. Pehaps he waited too long to get back in shape. We have all seen a much better hendo than we seen last night.
Props to Jake none the less.
The weight cut is a BS excuse for a man this knowledgeable and experienced. I think he just took Shields very lightly and did not prepare his game plan well.
He was 100% owned
Shields is the one who should be embarrassed. Every fight is a boring blanket fest. He makes Arona look like Sakuraba. At least Arona could actually mark your face up with punches.
Unless that first right hand knocked Sheilds out. Then Hendo would have been 110 percent and great and young again.
Henderson probably thought, like many, that Strikeforce would offer an easier challenge than the UFC.
PSBlows - didn't you hear Gus?
He's had back problems the past couple weeks.
they even said he appeared to be very stiff and not moving normally in the pre-fight meeting.
Hendo did look like he was either injured or if time has simply just caught up.

they only said this when Jake was owning him/
I don't know. He just looked overpaid to me.
Doesn't matter if he was at 50, 150, or 200 he still wouldn't beat Shields.
tapi - Doesn't matter if he was at 50, 150, or 200 he still wouldn't beat Shields.LOL... Dan KOs shields at least 50% of the time...
Shields is much better than most of us thought.
