I see the clinch and standup both being a good fight. I see Dan on top being a good fight. What I don't see as a good fight is Dan on the bottom or Dan in the later rounds.
I guess I'm not sure why I wouldn't want to see this fight. Hendo seems healthy, all his recent fights have been exciting, and he's got as much chance as anybody in the division against Jones.
Will Jones probably win? Yes. Is it probably the best possible LHW title fight right now? Yes...with the next best being Rashad.
Jackson, Lyoto, Rua, Bader, and Vlad have already lost to him. Davis hasn't had enough top quality opponents yet...Really Dan and Rashad are the only two opponents that make any sense. He beats those two and Davis if Davis can string together some more wins and he's basically cleared out the division and will probably have to start rematching.
I think Rashad, with a win should be next in line before Hendo since he has been promised a shot one way or another for years now.
Does anyone actually see Dan being able to get a clean shot in? I know it's possible and I'm a huge Hendo fan, but it's a feat to get anywhere near jones's chin. I would love to see this fight and I'd be rooting for Dan, but it's hard to see Jones loosing.

Listen. What we learned about Jones, if anything, is if you get off on him first you have a chance. Its the guys who dance around for a bit that are getting blasted.
Machida was doing well. He relaxed a bit thinking he could pace himself. Lowered hims arms, stopped circling and baked into the fence.
We need a guy who can go in there and put the pressure on from the get go, and keep it up. He needs to keep going forward.

Machida didn't land any flush punches on the button. It he had, jones would have been knocked out
Would look similar to Jones/Rampage. Dan pushing forward in a one dimensional fashion, while Jones carefully pics him apart.
Rather see Rashad, or Davis hopefully.

Yet Rogan said it was the hardest Jones was ever hit. Point is, even Machida could not get to Jones. Dan is too small and slow to get the H bomb off.
Problem is, Hendo is "ready to go" and Jones wants 5 months off......
Hendo's small frame would be an advantage. He could slip past Jones reach. With his chin he sits in the pocket and weathers the elbows as he head hunts. A good upper or two and Jones is at least rocked.
Odds are he will lose, but you cant play the distance game with Jones.
