You seem to be implying that Machida's strikes are no big deal. Machida is about as potent a striker there is. He could drop anyone.

Look I love Dan but he was gassed after mostly beating on Shogun for four rounds. No way he is the one to take Jones deep with his cardio. Of the two, Dan is the one who has shown lack of cardio, not Jones. Jones had a slight slow down vs Rampage, then he finished him lol. What is there to talk about? He has dismantled 6 top fighters in a row. His cardio is not an issue vs Dan. And I dont think the clinch battle would be close either, Dan would be going for a ride if he plays that game. He is better served with a standup fight at range, in close leads to the mat where he is in trouble.

Hendo is a legend and a great fighter but against jones he will gass in about 3 seconds and get rag dolled into oblivion.
I think the real question is, can Dan land that bomb?. That's a lot of ground to cover in order to land that bomb. Knowing Dan though he'll love the challenge. I wanna see Dan win another title so bad. Give him the shot Dana.

Hendo would be a very tough fight for Jones. He's agressive, has KO power in both hands, and grappling that would cancel out Jones' grappling.
He's also fought and done well against bigger fighters in the past, including a win over Big Nog. He's also only been submitted once in the past six years.
I think Jones would still win, but it wouldn't be a walk in the park for him.

If Hendo of late shows up, it's going to be over quick. Hendo was getting muscled in the clinch and taken down by a rocked Shogun even before he was totally gassed. There's no way in hell that he'd be able to push the pace on Jones for four minutes much less four rounds.

I LOVE the idea, but rain might be a HUGE issue. I drove H1 (the highway right next to the stadium) everyday for years and 70% of the time a random rainshower (always very brief) would happen. I dunno how much something like that would affect the production.

In this fight, yes. Jones can take him down at will and has destroyed 2 blackbelts in a row now on the mat. He is really screwed anywhere but at least he can setup the H-bomb from outside. The reach differential might be the biggest in any of Jones' fights. I don't see the wrestling as close as others right now. Dan may be able to scramble better than others, but if its after the first, he is going to be tired and finished on the mat.
