Getting comfortable on stage is a huge part of it--the only way to get comfortable is by being up there. Also open mics are tough because you are only performing in front of other comedians....I opened my own room for 6 years so that way I could network, get up as much as I wanted, and perform in front of real audience members. Don't worry about getting paid---it will eventually happen---and write everything down---get into that habit. Hopefully this helps. Phone Post 3.0
