Although HOOKnSHOOT has remained silent in the online world of MMA, they're coming off FOUR consecutive sold out shows.
For the first time ever, the industry's longest running MMA TV show recently beat NASCAR in the local ratings. A victory not only for HnS but the growing sport of MMA in general.
The overabundance of fighters has prompted HOOKnSHOOT to add a new series of events to find new stars in the MMA world.
HnS RISING STARS will feature 8-man tournaments featuring amateur fighters with one thing separating this from other events....a $3,200 championship belt to the winner.
There will also be sponsorship and a pro contract awarded to the winner of the tournament for both HOOKnSHOOT and another for MFC (Atlantic City) or AFC (Ft. Lauderdale).
The events will begin in Owensboro, Kentucky in late 2006 and Evansville, IN in early 2007.
The first two weight divisions to be showcased will be the 145lbs and 155lbs class. Both tournaments already have several entrants and are expected to fill quickly.
anything coming to or around Texas? I think there is no amateur MMA in tx right now, but I would love to get in on this if it were somewhere closer by.
Maybe some of the CO amateurs can make it out for this. Now that they've been banned here in CO they'll have to find new places to fight if they want to remain amateurs.
