Premieres tonight on the History Channel at 8:00 e.s.t. for anyone that may be interested.
Thanks for the reminder braddah. I wonder if it's going to be similar to the movie "Ali Rap", which is basically a tribute film.
The teasers talk about him using the electronic muscle stimulator back in the day. Probably same old stuff, interviews with people who trained with him. A lot of them are pretty ancient themselves. IMO, Bob Wall had some of the best stories. Supposedly there's a film of he and BL sparring but it's tied up in litigation. Would be cool to see that. Supposedly taken by Ahna Capri. Bob tired to buy it but her price was too high I think he said.
Failing new/unseen footage of BL, don't see how it's going to be that good.
Good documentary. I liked it a lot, but to leave out the entire lineage of Guro Dan...that's just plain sad.
Lineage? Who cares about that? Guro Dan is his own man and probably has achieved more for the martial arts than Bruce Lee.
This is true, but the program makes it look like his work is being continued by rappers and breakdancers and comedians.
This isn't the case. His work is being continued by many very dedicated individuals. This board, even with its many disagreements, is a living testament to the continuing evolution of the idea he lived by and espoused.
He continues to change the world today through these people. That's all I'm trying to say. :)
Hey, where's the rest of the vid of your fight?? Good stuff and congrats on the W!
4 Ranges - Good documentary. I liked it a lot, but to leave out the entire lineage of Guro Dan...that's just plain sad.
I watched it last night and was surprised to see that. Can anyone enlighten me as to why they would do that?
They usually leave out BL's first student, Jesse Glover. At least this time it showed him in one shot.
As to Dan, I think there's currently a bit of a rift between him and the BL 'clan'. It may be that he declined to participate.
That thing was dumb.
Dan kept the teaching and art of Bruce Lee alive... and he did it the way Bruce would have wanted to, always researching and learning.
I have said before that the absence of Dan from the Bruce Foundation speaks volumes.
They are turning JKD into everything Bruce was against and Dan knows it. Thats why he stayed away.
^^^JKD4200 has cha-cha'd the correct. Bruce had gotten rid of SO MANY things in his art and practice as he progressed.
Before you know it, the foundation will be offering cha cha lessons.
Fanboy show...
I offer Cha Cha lessons ENTIRELY by coincidence.
I'm just sayin'.
I own a pair of aviators. Just sayin' also.
thats the whole thing
