That may work in Belgium or wherever you’re from, but this is the United States of America. If you try that shit here you’ll end up with your name in the paper and your family will be crying. You see a knife? Either shoot that mother fucker or run. No gun? Can’t run? Pray.

There is no way of carrying a gun in Europe, so this is out of question for us. If you watch the video you will understand I am not talking about Knife Defense, I am talking about preventing the draw. Once the knife is out it is 1000 times more dangerous.

So doing clinch for self-defense has to focus on exactly this otherwise you are ignoring a big risk in a self defense situation.

Even if you are a wearing a gun and a clinch situation happens you don´t to allow your opponent to has his hands free in order to reach to your weapon.

Hand control is absolutely crucial for self defense…

Sounds like its time to move :us:

Teaching anyone defense against an edged weapon must include the absolute fact that “YOU WILL GET CUT” This being said when you put your hands up in a defensive position, keep your palms facing toward you away from the assailant with the blade. This exposes the posterior of your arm where contact with a blade would meet more bone and minimize damage to blood vessels. Tere are tactics that you can use to minimize damage incurred in an edged weapon scenario but you have to be mentally and psychologically prepared for the fact that you will get cut.
