I think it would be interesting. We might see more ground work off the bottom since it would take away the top fighter's ability to stuff the bottom guy against the cage.
We could also see some epic slams. Imagine the Hughes vs. Trigg slam if Hughes had 100 feet to run it.

Old old old boxing bouts used one rope to just keep the fightin area clear, look at the thread entitled "Photos that capture a small slice of history". Theres a picture there that gives you a feeling for why they originally used rope.
