Just next week Canelo vs Kirkland live from a fucking stadium on HBO. The card also has Clottey taking on Silva.
THEN May 16th HBO is at it again with GGG taking on Willie Monroe Jr.
THEN on NBC you have Andre Dirrell fighting James DeGale
THEN and I dont know how but SPIKE got Amir Kahn vs Chris Algieri and Pauli Malingnaggi vs Danny O' Conner!
That card seems way too much for Spike and Friday night but I'll rol with it.
Not to mention there are a ton of other great fights this month in Europe with guys like Felix Sturm and others but they prop wouldnt be too well known here.
Point being Boxing isnt dead...if anything it might be taking over.
Yeah, I'm loving the resurrgence of boxing on non-premium cable channels. I never subscribe to HBO or Showtime, so being able to watch boxing without using a stream, plus being able to DVR it, is amazing. I hated on Al Haymon a lot in 2014 for some of the matchups he gave Showtime, but damn, he's seeming like the lesser of two evils at this point.

Alvarez - Kirkland on Saturday (HBO) has tremendous potential. Canelo will have to box more rather than brawl like he did to confuse Austin Trout. Kirkland's chin was found wanting in his only loss but that was shortly after his jail stint and without his long time trainer Ann Wolfe in the corner. He's a big puncher who comes out in beast mode from the opening bell and seems to get stronger as the bout progresses. He's a lot more dangerous than Alfredo Angulo so Alvarez won't be able to just stand in front of him and say let's trade. If (and its a BIG if) Kirkland survives the early rounds it can definitely get uncomfortable for Canelo.

I agree. This is going to be a hard hitting dangerous fight for both. I can't believe its not PPV as Canelo pulls 300k by himself.
