I am a sad Herring fan :(

That showing was so bad it will take a minor miracle to get Heath back up to contender status.

He did make a good point by holding his arms out to demonstrate that O'Brien was just holding on. That being said, it was Herring's job to get out of those situations. He didn't have the cardio or the technique to power out of those ground positions, and had NO sprawl.

His post fight comments were funny. He blamed O'Brien's wrestling for his loss. It's almost like saying: "If the other guy hadn't beat me, I would have won!", lol.

Let's hope in Heath's next fight that he decides to take the fight into his own hands and dictate where and how the fight happens.

I hate Herring and would love to see him get beat.

That said, that was a pathetic way to win. Takedown, control position while doing no damage and not coming close to finishing, rinse, repeat.

ZZZZZzzzzZZZZZZzzzz

I am glad he got beat.

He looked absolutely horrible. Amazing that this is the same guy who survived an entire fight against Mino once. Looked completely clueless on the ground.

very disappointed

I think his knee really got screwed when he tore it up.

sad to see heath lose like that.....awful performance......

that dudes wrestling looked EXCELLENT though,

hard to believe that it was the same man who had that war with
minotauro, he looked like tank abbott on the ground

just to clarify, I am still very much a fan of Herring

Herring go back to your roots.

I talked to Heath last night after the fight at a restaurant, and he told me he had a torn MCL for that fight. That's why he had that weird stance, and that's why he couldn't explode off his back or sprawl. I told him that I wished that I had known that before the fight because it explains a lot, but he said he didn't want to give any excuses. That's a credit to the way he thinks, but it's not really an excuse as much as it's an explanation. This is taking nothing away from Jake, because I think Jake fought a great fight and displayed some solid skills, but anyone that's seen Heath fight before knows that wasn't him out there.

I know some people thought I was a little harsh in my commentary, and I understand that, but I've got to be honest. It wasn't insulting, it was just exactly how I saw it. Knowing now about the injury, it all makes sense, and i wish I had that info while the fight was going on. I've always been a fan of Heath and the way he fights, so I'm really looking forward to him healing up so we can see him fight up to potential that I know he's capable of. Best wishes and a speedy recovery to Heath.

Thanks for posting that, Joe. That makes a lot more sense now, and completely clears up my above question about his stance during the standup portion compared to his stance from back in his Golden Glory days.

And yeah, listing to your commentary, I was thinking, "come on Joe, lighten up"! But at the same time, it was totally accurate. You did a fine job.

I still love the Heath Herring.

The showing was pathetic. His next fight won't be much better. His fight against Goodridge was also pathetic, both of them where just stumbling around.

What I was thinking when watching that fight was Heath herring was exposed. From now on eveyone will know his weakness and his credibility as a fighter is gone forever.

I also noted that while Rogan was talking about Herring's "international" experience and mentioned the fighters that beat him in one sided fashion he only mentioned Nog and Mirko. He said not even those guys beat Herring as thoroughly as he was beat Thursday.

So now in addition to denying the existance of PRIDE, they are denying the existance of Fedor?
