In the registration, it states for the masters division 1983 or older.
Is it cool to register then in the masters division even though my birthday occurs after the tournament. Opinions?
Not in the Ibjjf, when they check your i.d; or registration you'd have a problem, technically you do not qualify(age-wise) and if its a Cali tourney they are super strict!
It's by year of birth and not age. You can be 29 and compete provided you'd be 30 at some point during that year.

Now about the weight though.... Lol

yeah... I think if you plan on losing weight in the future, you can go ahead and register for whatever lighter division you want, depending on how optimistic you are about your dieting.
