Not a bad idea by Machida is coming off a loss and is moving down to middleweight. Plus, Phil Davis is next in line after texiera. I also think Alex would beat dat ass. 
Machida is at 185 now. 
Machida needs a lower level guy to beat up on, he had trouble outstriking Davis and got his rounds stolen by TD's. He has to stop letting that happen and get some volume strategies. Phil Davis is not going to KO a guy Machida was too tentative. I think Gus and Tex murder him right now.

As a big fan of both, I don't want to see Machida vs Gus.

Forgot Machida was making the cut, Alex vs Cormier would be fun. I think Alex would be too fast for him and would rack up a 3 round UD.

205 is too thin to eliminate one of it's best two contenders imo
If Lyoto hadn't dropped down, this would be a perfect follow up fight for both of them.
Being as i don't think anyone has the physical tools to hurt Jones like Gus. The pessimist in me fears Gus losing his next fight and being robbed of the chance a rematch.
