Anyone have the results to the Ironheart crown fights tonight
Sorry guys I forgot to add a ? In the title damn it
Raphael Assuncao beat Joe Pearson in R1 with strikes. Very quick win. The crowd seemed a bit tired by this time. No real reaction, unfortunately.
Joey Benoit beat Juan Magana in R1 with strikes. Also a very quick win.
Tommy Lee beat Charles Wilson by decision. Lee took Wilson down once per round and kept him down, throwing weak strikes now and then. The ref didn't stand them up, Wilson didn't try any submissions, and the crowd boo'ed the heck out of them. This match seemed to suck all the oxygen out of the UIC Pavlion.
Keith "The Banana" Smetana beat Danny Gilbert. Forgot how though.
Ricardo Lamas beat Christopher Martins. Forgot how though.
Chris Albandia beat Jake Ambrose via submission from strikes. I couldn't really tell whether Chris stopped striking out of mercy and then Jake tapped out, or whether Jake tapped out and then Chris stopped. Chris looked really really good in this fight.
I think Rob Menigoz beat Tony Marti, but am not sure.
Forgot who won between Brad Fonck and Jason Schmidt.
Either the Fonck vs. Schmidt or the Menigoz vs. Marti fight ended when the guy on the bottom put an armbar on the guy on top. Forgot the name of the move, but it wasn't the normal jujigatame armbar.
Mustafa Hussaini beat Antonio "The Aztec God of War" Canas by RNC submission. Mustafa looked real good.
Thx how did the benoit magana fight play out all stand up?
lifeaftrprison - Wow tough break for Magana, a couple more quality wins and he coulda got some national rec.
Yes
It was a good show over all.
Fight of the night was Ricardo Lamas vs Chris Martins. Lamas won by decision.
Mustafa Hussaini to the WEC!!!
ttt
what happened in the Fonck fight?
Wish I could have been there.
Did Anthony Gomez fight?
great to see Mustafa back on the winning track.
it was a good show. Maybe its the recession, but i was dismayed at the sight of all the empty seats. I figure it was only about 50% filled. The dancers were f-ing hot and the real-time video footage that they had on the big TV screen was AWESOME.Great job to the fighters and to Eric Moon. I hope he came out ok financially on this one.
It was an awesome show. Production was great. Almost every one of the fights was very exciting, in spite of all the names that feel off the card. The DJ was on and the Go-Go's were freaking amazing. Patrycia Mikula was our ring-girl. The entertainment value of the show itself was unrivaled. The general fans (not MMA/underground fans) were completely amazed and now hooked on MMA.
I am extremely happy with the show overall and proud of what we all put together last night. It is exactly what I have been dreaming of doing one day in my ten years as a promoter. I couldn't ask for more in that regard.
Financially, it was not as pretty.
ttt for full results if anyone has them

- Brad Fonck lost, was doing good at first but got caught in that armbar, i got there late so I missed this fight, i saw the replay, it was was not a normal armbar like you said, and i too forgot the name of it...
good for mustapha. he's a cool guy, i've met him a bunch of times. he vs eddie wineland 1 is one of the best fights i've ever seen.
tought break for magana. i figured he wins here, and he was due for a shot.
luckychucky - it was a good show. Maybe its the recession, but i was dismayed at the sight of all the empty seats. I figure it was only about 50% filled. The $35 mezzanine seats seemed to be about 70% filled, but the cheap $25 balcony seats were about 20% filled at most. Entire sections of the balcony were empty.
The camera work and production values were great. Much better than expected. Didn't expect instant replays and highlight reels!
No opinion on the dancing girls. Music wasn't bad. Everything started on time. I thought there would be beer sold, though. Tickets were cheap. If I knew the layout, I would not have gotten 1st row seats at mezzanine, but rather 1st row seats at balcony. It's real hard to sea the action on the ground from below cage-level. That being said, I don't think there was a bad seat in the house.
I chatted with Chris Albandia and Miguel Torres in the crowd, and they were both really nice. Hope Torres does well in his WEC fight.
The last two fights should have gotten great responses from the crowd, but for some reason they were very subdued.
All in all, a very good show, conveniently located. I definitely want to see Assuncao again, and also see Magana re-prove himself. Mustafa and Benoit were great, and Lamas and Martins fought a fantastic fight, with lots of great groundwork reversals, if I recall correctly.
Oh, and a great national anthem! That's the way the anthem should be sung. Sad to see no anthems at UFCs.
so sunshine wasnt found an opponent?
