is anderson really getting 8 million dollars?

for moving the sonnen fight outta brazil? heard it last night on mma uncensored.

doubt it, but if he does he is GOAT for sure!

What was the context of "heard it"? I missed the episode and couldn't DvR it. Anger Management/Louis/Daily Show took precedence.....

So chaels teollin again hehe Phone Post

HERE HE IS! The guy who actually believes the things that come out of Chael's mouth! I thought you were a myth man.

not in dollars... probably in ReAls... whcih is brazilian currency... it's roughly half of a dollar.

I believe Zuffa got a significant site fee from the mgm to move it to vegas.... they likely got around 8 to 10 million.

I dont think Zuffa wants anyone to know because they'd have to share the money.

The toronto show set a new benchmark for big UFC fights... if Vegase wants the big ufc fights they have to cough up roughly 8 million for the site fee to make up the difference.

Pacman and Mayweather get 20 to 25 million in site fees for their fights... UFC is likely getting around a third of that for their big fights.  (overeem/jds,  GSP/Diaz, Anderson/Sonnen, etc...)

Jones vs Hendo on labor day weekend is also likely commanding a site fee.  I would guestimate around 4 to 6 million.

 He's only getting 50 cents?!!?!?!?!?!

half of every dollar.  so 8 million Reals equates to a litle less than 4 million.

Apparently Gsp gets 5 million per fight, so silva getting 8 million sounds about right, since he is extremly popular in brazil right now and this ppv will be a big one

Haha I see what you did there Phone Post

All this info with no links. They also said that on mma censored.

But why would Zuffa pay Anderson in reals when their bank is probably American. Pretty sure they issue checks and not actual currency. Phone Post

Zuffa is a US based company. They pay out in US currency. That said, fighters who are based outside the USA generally will have their "salary" be very low, and the back room shit be where all the real money comes in. This is due to tax laws. Anderson only has to pay the USA tax on the money he recieves as his "purse". Hence why the reports always say he earned like 200K....

Are you sure this is this correct? Then why don't boxers structure their deals like the UFC? Aren't they taxed on their total earnings per the state in which the fight is domiciled irregardless of where they live? Would Manny get taxed way less than Mayweather if they fought since he can claim primary residence outside of the USA/Vegas? Phone Post

This was my thinking. We've heard GSP say in the past he makes roughly $5 million per fight and he's not only been defeated in the UFC, but he's never had a fight that people want to see as much as this. Silva making $7 million for this fight is totally believable. Phone Post
