Is Nick Diaz vs Masvidal bigger than Conor/Cowboy?

Could it be true?

Everyone says GSP and Anderson Silva are the GOAT. Nick Diaz fought them both evenly.

Which begs the question..Just how good is Nick Diaz?

No. Nick hasn't won a fight since 2011.

Masvidal is in the queue for a title shot. No reason right now to take other fights.

Let Nick dry out and win a fight again and then see how things look. just the fact that he thinks he needs to revenge Nate only proves that Jorge really did beat Nate pretty badly.

Basically this thread can be summed up in one question; is Conors return more important than Nick Diaz return? I think that answer is obvious. A double champ who has fought more recently compared to a guy who hasn't fought in the years and never won a championship.

You meant how good WAS Nick Diaz, right? The UFC hype machine could work their magic and it might have good numbers. But I wouldn't expect it to live up to the hype. I'd watch though.

Nick fought GSP evenly? I remember him losing pretty much every minute of that fight including the huge majority of the standup.

As far as a true fight goes. They ran out of time.

like this sequence here near the end of round 5 Nick trying to break a limb and GSP trying to hold on

Agreed , except that this is the UFC. A circus thats only about ratings. Masvidal would welcome the big payday vs Nick rather than fight for the title. It’s about big fights that will sell and I think Nick vs Mas sells at least as well as Conor vs Cowboy.

Conor is an international star. I think any fight with him will always out sell anything Jorge or Nick can do.

I agree though, Jorge is a money fighter and that is more important to him than the belt. At 35 years old, he knows he needs to cash in while he can.

I think Conor Masdival would be even bigger.

Same with Anderson. Dude didn’t win a round against either…but we can act like they were razor thin decisions if that helps sell a fight almost a decade later.

Nick is irrelevant in the big scheme. Next.

Nick would need at least 6 months to get into fighting shape then another 3 for a camp.

You won't have to wait long. Out of the five new threads made here every day, that's probably two of them.
