Is p90x legit or a scam like the shake weight.

Done right, it's legit.

Doing half a workout, waiting 3 days, eating pizza and chips and soda and beer, and then doing another half a workout...not going to cut it.

nobones - These posts supporting P90X make no sense to me...all workout routines take a tremendous amount of discipline and effort to reach your goals. The problem with P90X is the high rate of injury. <img src="/images/phone/droid.png" alt="Phone Post" border="0" style="vertical-align:middle;"/>

What exactly causes those injuries ?

I did p90x for a little while but was unable to continue because I have a should and elbow issue that was very painful. I switched to insanity, which still hurt my arm but much less.
Doing insanity for 1 month and following my own version of insanitys diet plan, I lost 22 lbs. I was in the best shape I have been in since highschool.

p90x builds stronger muscle
insanity loses more weight and gets more cardio flexibility and conditioning.

I did one full course of P90x.

Ive also done two full courses of Rushfit, one beginner, and one intermediate.

I prefer Rushfit just for the style of workouts, P90x has a bunch of oddball exercises (Corn Cob pullups?) which don't seem to have any functionality other than isolating a single beach muscle.

Either is great though if you stick to the plan.

iPullMount - If you follow P90x and push yourself it has great results, not tons of muscles, but burning fat and gaining strength. But you have to actually DO the program, most people I know forget that part, and just believe they can get in shape by buying it. Phone Post

Any actual exercise program Willie you results if you PUSH yourself. Anyone can go and workout and not push and then a few weeks later say its shit. Phone Post

Yea, rushfit is great, especially if you modify it a bit to your own liking. Also it's very good for developing traps and delts, after completing 2 full calendars mine started to look like I was on horsemeat.

p90x is legit, I have done both p90x and Insanity, both are good programs, but you have to push yourself.

Currently I'm doing rushfit and that one is pretty good too, the only inconvenience is the HORRIBLE accent from GSP.

And the insanity girls are HOT

Dudes, just go to the freakin gym.

It's not brain surgery.

p90x is legit strength and conditioning.

To gain muscle which would be better

Rushfit , P90x, Situation Workout, TapoutXL, Insanity? Phone Post

p90x is legit, yes.

Doing tons of pushups, pullup, etc will get you results. It's not ground breaking or anything but if you don't know what to do then this will work for you.

You will for sure lose weight and gain some lean muscle, chances are you won't get super ripped but you will get results if you follow the program.

Its hard, but stick with it and you will see changes for sure.

I can't speak for TapoutXL

but in my opinion p90x will help you gain the most muscle.

I have tried all rushfit,p90x and (some) insanity.

 this.

but only if you get the Voice Assist model. It will tell how hard to shake and will give you motivational phrases and then tell when you're hitting the spot. If you get the deluxe voice assist model, it'll squirt out a 'cool down' liquid when you've finished it off.
Legit LOL. Phone Post

Thank you! Phone Post

My question is, if I'm a regular gym goer, would P90x be better for me to cut fat and gain lean muscle? Phone Post

Sub'd because a buddy of mine just lent me insanity to burn Phone Post

P90x is a very good workout program, no doubt about it. It's also challenging and not the sort of thing you can just go into half-heartedly.

Commit to it and do the full program and you'll see results for sure. As others have said it's great for weight loss, but because there's a decent amount of weights in there it can build some muscle too.

I'd say that a lot of people who just do their own routine at the gym would probably be surprised at how hard P90x workouts are. The main reason for that is the tempo. There are short breaks included, but that aside you move from one exercises to another fairly quickly. At the gym you're less likely to be that diligent about it.

Along with P90x I've also done:

P90x2: More technical, but strangely not as tough as the original.

Rushfit: Excellent program. More focused on weight loss and endurance, but very well designed.

TapoutXT: Just working my way through this one at the moment. It's somewhere in-between Rushfit and P90x. Again it's more weight loss and cardio based. I prefer Rushfit, but it's a solid alternative if you're looking for a change.

I did a comprehensive review of Rushfit which you can read here: http://www.fightofthenight.com/featured/gsp-rushfit-workout-dvds-in-depth-review/

..final note. I haven't done Insanity, but I've read it's not as technically sound or well thought out as the others.
