I've heard conflicting info. 

Can anyone from Brazil actually confirm its legality or illegality?  Is true Vale Tudo legal/illegal in Brazil?

IIRC true Vale Tudo has been outlawed there for many years now.

I think alot of it had to do with Sergio Batterelli's events.

Actually, being an illegal event adds something to it.

Vale Tudo is not outlawed everywhere in Brasil but in the mega city of Sao Paulo it is. In Rio it is not.

I would say no because the american owner might have trouble getting a visa running an illegal business in brazil. He puts his name out there.

Good info.  So it's handled in a similar manner to the US, where MMA is legal in some states but not in others?
