Just read Connor Ruebusch’s article on her entitled “How Valentina Shevchenko stinks up the joint”
Ruebusch acknowledges how talented, skilled, technical, etc Valentina is but that perhaps like GSP is still rather too methodically conservative even when she clearly outclasses her opponents? Im writing this as Maia walks out to the ring and believe this is Valentina’s 4th defense. Yes, the womena’s FLW div is rather shallow and seems other than maybe Andrade, Valentina is gonna have to look up for a 3rd fight with Nunes or maybe a catch weight bout with Weili (whats happening to Weili anyhow? How long has it been since the Joanna fight?).
What do you guys think? I think Valentina is one of the best fighters in the sport period but agree that like GSP, whom im also a big fan of, she does seem to be a bit too conservative/methodical at times…?
She arguably beat the best BW/FW of all time in Nunes.
So if people call GSP the male GOAT... well Shevchenko is the female GOAT.
Most well rounded female in MMA history.
GSP has defended a lot more and did bigger things in a bigger talent pool but Shevchenko arguably beat her Anderson Silva when she had the second fight with Nunes.
No she does WMMA which automatically disqualifies her from being GSP level. Talent pool too shallow to even compare. Plus she has unavenged losses. No comparison. Boringness can be argued either way.
