It’s a new day, that that pertains to the UFC as well. The coronavirus storm has come and gone and we are left in a new chapter in the book called life. Guys like Conor McGregor are done. He’s never going to achieve what he did in the pre-coronavirus era. With that being said, let’s talk about the future.
Islam Makhachev has a great chance of becoming lightweight champ. Khamzat Chimeav has a great chance of becoming the next welterweight champ. If the can get past Oliveira and Edwards both have achieved the ultimate dream. Pitching these two against each other is sure to bring the UFC fanbase foaming at the mouth waiting to catch a glimpse.
Both are already huge stars and have a ton of fans. The dynamic of a fight between them would not only be wild is a potential super fight. Chimeav seems untouchable and Makhachev seems to have learned from experience how to shut down the best in the division with ease.
Who wins in a potential super fight between Islam Makhachev vs. Khamzat Chimaev?
Islam Makhachev versus Khamzat Chimaev might one day become the biggest fight out there. Can Makhachev use his take down ability to shut down the wolf in his tracks or would Chimaev simply destroy Makhachev without being hit?
Doubt it happens and IF it ever does it would be years from now when there is no interest as one or both guys will be on the decline. Khamzat will have issues with 170 before Islam moves up, unless he beats charles and moves up right away then its possible, just dont see khamzat being able to stay at 170 for more than say 3 or 4 fights.
It would be a great fight for the fans if it were to happen though, khamzat obviously has the size advantage, he has a power advantage and could clip Islam but khamzats boxing is overrated, he is easy to hit. Wrestling is interesting as I think Islam is more skilled but how would size effect that as khamzat is aggressive and very good, he was afraid of the ground game it seemed with Burns who is not much bigger than islam at all, islam has better wrestling than burns and he has very good subs as well.
I would love to see this fight, we uave to see how islam does against charles and a couple defenses against top 3 guys, khamzat as well, he struggled with burns and fhat was his only true test (hollland is never going to be a top guy)
