It’s the exact same model except with actual fighting.
That may be true, and there is nothing wrong with that.
If the sub-structure works as a business model, then it’s a good move to use it too.
But Overeem wasn’t talking about the business model. He was talking about the product.
I actually don’t hate the WWE. It is great for kids.
For kids, the spectacle, the drama, the simple concepts of good vs evil, coming back from near defeat, giant undefeatable fighters, not knowing what is going to happen in the story (of wrestling), is all fantastic!
It’s just a a bit weird that adults still like it. For most adults, those simple concepts no longer stay interesting, when you understand the whole thing is fiction/drama.
As an adult, I’m more into behind the scenes wrestling stories. Try watching dark side of the ring and other wrestling docus, still interesting as an adult.
Yeah, I have not seen them, but I can appreciate they might be good.
Real human drama.
Please dont apologize Reem!
Gotta agree with Reem here
Yeah he’s definitely speaking about the product, not the business.
Found out as a TEEN?
Holy fuck, how stupid are you?
The current state of wrestling is absolutely for children but pro wrestling in the 90s was undeniably more popular than MMA has ever been in any age group
The real fake wrestling was Japanese in the Saku era.,
Fake news minka and morning Joe??
He’s spot on actually!

I just watched his episode of Dark Side of the Ring an hour ago lol
Dude became a successful bounty hunter and still just gives zero fucks.
Reem putting us wrestling fags in our place.
You’d think he’d at least respect the rampant steroid abuse, though.
You can’t lump all pro wrestling together. Depending on the era and the promotion, there are examples of pro wrestling being lame af or downright appalling (weapons, excessive blading, in ring stabbings/cutting, etc). But you can look at other eras and other promotions and find awesome entertainment. So reem’s statement is oversimplifying the sport.
Oh, definitely, but it’s par for the course if you’re a wrestling fan.
Like, I didn’t get into it as a three/four-year-old because I thought it was real, but that seems to be such a sticking point for a lot of people.
I didn’t give any thought to whether or not Bruce Lee and Schwarzenegger were really fucking people up, either. I just enjoyed the show for what it was.
