Itchy skin day after bjj training?

Does anyone else experience really itchy skin the day after training bjj? Particularly when beginning to warm up/sweat for the the first time of the day? For me it can be unbearable at times to the point where I have to stop what I'm doing and scratch like a crack head which is really awkward working in construction. Usually it goes away if I sort of sweat through it but I hate having it on my mind each day waiting for it to come on. Have tried a load of different washing detergents so convinced it's nothing to do with that but would appreciate if anyone's experienced something similar and knows any ways to control it. Try using a different detergent without dyes or scents. If you are using bleach try not using it for a while Phone Post 3.0

Use some moisture cream Phone Post 3.0

Stop the meth use. The invisible bugs eventually disappear.

I was actually dealing with this as well. Are you talking about a itch that hurts? But i haven't had it in about a month. All i changed was wait a little longer after BJJ to shower to let my skin calm down a bit. Then have a warm shower not using any soaps but have a good wash. And when im about to get out i turn the hot watet off and stand under the cold water.

I also went to a specialist and got some really strong antihistamines. I do notice i get it a littke when i stress out during the day. Phone Post 3.0

Yep a painful itch to the point that you have to like grit your teeth and scratch like fuck. Especially around the lower legs and ankles/wrists. Stress brings it on too which is why I think it's something to do with the pores or blood vessels when you start to get hot or sweat. Good idea with the cold shower- will try that and anti histamines. Cheers Phone Post 3.0

Yeah its the exact thing I had/have. I haven't had it much in the previous month. I would get it on my hands and upper thighs, sometimes the whole body depending on how much i stress. Phone Post 3.0

this, i unfortunately have dry skin and have always needed to use moisturizer because of this.

You prolly have mild eczema. Buy some cortisone from target. Make sure put extra soap in your gi washes. Wear rash guards it helps a lot. I got super sensitive skin Phone Post 3.0

This happens to me, specifically if I begin to sweat like you said. Aveno helps if you have it on hand. Super annoying though Phone Post 3.0

I get this too. It's really bad the next morning if I ride my bike to work. I looked into it at one point, and there's something called runners itch that sounds very similar. Try looking that up. Apparently it's quite common amongst competitive runners. Phone Post 3.0

I had the same thing, especially the following morning. Seems like it's just a dry skin issue with me. I switched to a soap with aloe and take cooler showers instead of hot. Seems to work for me.

How long have you been training for? I've noticed this in people who recently have started (or have started again after a break). And not just limited to jiu jitsu, but exercise in general.

I've heard it has to do with increased blood flow to the region that the nerves aren't used to, and just wigs them out. It will settle down in time.

Thank god I am not the only one!!! Haha

dry, crackling skin. Either that or micro abrasions.... Man when they get sweat in them the start to itch like a mother fucker! Usually, lotion in the morning does the trick though.
