"Razor" is correct.
When are you fighting again? May the powers of Yelm be with you.

ttt for the UFC bringing him back and making the MW division even more stacked.
"I think it is better for the sport if he remains an example of what happns when you piss away a great opportunity on free TV."
How is that better? If anything it would probably make more guys nervous that one bad night will ruin them. Christ, fighters are human. Ivan is a good fighter who adds to the division and at least deserves to show up on a prelim.
Hell, just last week in boxing Jose Luis Castillo looked terrible agaisnt a guy he was supposed to walk over, but thankfully he's judged by his overall record not just one off night. Is it good that it wasnt a ppv?- hell yeah.
Besides, I dont see Marquart getting the same criticism. It takes two to tango. Pretty much all Nate did was check leg kicks, get a takedown, and then be content to sit in Salaverry's guard and sleepily do some ineffective gnp for three rounds. And he was on ROIDS. And the UFC has asked him back!?!?! Seems to me if he can come back, Ivan deserves another shot too.
"Salavery got a raw deal. It takes two to tango and Marquardt wasn't engaging either."
Marquardt hasn't been back either.. Didnt he fail a drug test, then pass one?? What ever happened with that??
"Please tell me his school will be on the eastside. please."
Oh yeah, like you guys haven't had enough good gyms over the years. And AMC, RSU, and that TKD MMA place are all just garbage. I can see why you want more options.
Bastard.
what's the tkd mma place?
I checked out the rsu site a few week's back and looks like they lost their JJ instructor. Know anything about that?
Why are you bitter? you live in spokane? lol.
Salaverry IS an exciting fighter to watch. He's only had two boring fights in his entire career.
One being against the man who wrote the book on how to be a boring fighter, Matt Lindland, and the other against Marquandt.
But since Salaverry got dumped, they should dump Nathan, too. For being a "name" fighter from Japan, he didn't do much of anything. At least Salaverry has a great track record with the UFC.
"Marquardt hasn't been back either.. Didnt he fail a drug test, then pass one?? What ever happened with that?"
He basically failed to follow up with a proper re-test to prove he was clean which lead to a suspension, I forget how many months (6, I think?), but its pretty much over. He's been in the rumor mill to fight on one of the next UFC cards (possibly versus Joe Doerkson).
How many awsome fights, and one bad one - bring the dude back!
The guy is a good fighter and fun to watch. Marquardt is just that good to make a guy like him look like a rookie.
If the UFC lets him go they are making a mistake.
I like him and hope he gets to fight again ANYWHERE.
Kirk
He should be back. So should Nate.
They are both good fighters.
Ivan is a great, we have to see him back in the UFC, on a good day he could be champ, easy.
The UFC, Joe Silva, told Ivan that he needs to "fight his way back into the UFC by appearing in smaller shows." Not joking either.
I realize Ivan had an off night and so does he. That stuff happens. He holds no ill feelings towards anyone, he understands that it's a business.
He's working on opening a Gym in Seattle now.
Nop,Ivan Born In Chile,in Vi?a del Mar.
The same place where i'm livin' right now :)
I always enjoyed his fights. The marquardt fight sucked, but every fight's not gonna be wall to wall action.
ttt for salaverry

"The guy is a good fighter and fun to watch. Marquardt is just that good to make a guy like him look like a rookie."
That would imply there was some sort of meaningful offense by Marquardt.
Both guys had too much pressure on them, and both guys wanted a big finish for TV. Its as simple as that. Marquardt underestimated Ivan and Ivan overestimated Marquardt. neither guy is gonna walk into a submission or KO which is what both guys wanted. For Zuffa to not use Ivan since then is crazy...I mean geez, I think Frykland and Riggs sets up a title shot more than Carter and a questionable stoppage against Sells.
"Joe Silva, told Ivan that he needs to "fight his way back into the UFC by appearing in smaller shows."
What the f*ck? Yet Eilers gets KTFO'ed, then gets a title shot which he loses big time, and he gets asked back? Yet it takes Phil Baroni FOUR CONSECUTIVE losses before they tell him to go back to the proving grounds? Wow, way to go UFC matchmakers.
Last time I spoke with Ivan he definitely wanted to get a contract somewhere, particularly with Pride or UFC. Right now he is going to open a school in the SODO area with the help of another friend in the area. I anticipate for it to open within the next couple of months.
